Bio

Vanna Morini (Verona, Italy, 1956) is a visual artist whose practice combines painting, artist's books and installation. After a long professional career in medicine, including a period of volunteer work in Africa, she devoted herself to artistic research, studying at the Accademia Cignaroli and the Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona.

Her work explores themes of childhood, memory, migration and human vulnerability through mixed media, stitching, paper and reclaimed materials, transforming real-life stories into spaces for reflection and participation.

Her work has been exhibited in national exhibitions and art prizes, and in 2026 she received the Jury Mention at the Combat Prize. With her last artwork " LIBERA", she develops an educational and participatory project that seeks to make the human experience of forced migration accessible to children through the language of contemporary art.

¿Qué importancia tiene el arte en tu vida?

Art, for me, is a message of memory, solidarity, and hope. It creates connections, gives voice to the invisible, and reminds us of our shared humanity.

¿Cómo crees que el Arte puede contribuir al fortalecimiento de la Cultura de Paz?

I believe art strengthens a culture of peace by creating empathy, preserving memory, and giving voice to those who are often unheard. Art can cross cultural and linguistic barriers, encourage dialogue, and remind us of our shared humanity. It cannot stop wars, but it can change the way we see one another—and that is where peace begins

The issues that affect me most today are wars, humanitarian crises, forced migration, and violence against women, including femicide. These are the themes I explore through my artistic practice, using art as a way to preserve memory, foster empathy, and encourage dialogue.

En tu opinión, ¿cómo puede el Arte contribuir a elevar la conciencia de las personas sobre los temas mencionados?

Art raises awareness by creating empathy. It gives a human face to social issues, encourages reflection and dialogue, and helps people see beyond the headlines. Through emotion and memory, it can inspire understanding and responsibility.
