ART FOR PEACE 2025
The theme of this edition, inspired by James Joyce’s poem ‘Chaosmos,’ reflects human duality: creation (art, music, technology) and destruction (wars, climate crisis, social exclusion), which threaten our existence. In this edition, we will open sales of reproductions to support artists, especially from regions like Afghanistan, Africa, the Philippines, and Brazil. The commercialization rules and profit-sharing will be detailed in the registration form, with part of the proceeds donated to the Education for Peace program. The artworks will be displayed in a virtual gallery, undergo curation, and online voting. Selected pieces will be exhibited at the headquarters of the collective Fora da Caixa and may be included in traveling exhibitions.

Art has the power to create a movement of awareness and resistance in the face of atrocities and injustice. The artistic act can also bring beauty where there is barrenness and a lack of sensitivity, dissolving cultural and ideological barriers, uniting those who have been divided. Our aspiration is to create a channel of expression where talent, sensitivity, and the purpose of making Art for Peace are celebrated and reach people’s hearts and minds. Our goal is not to create a competition; the exhibition proposes reflection and an artistic celebration where professionals and amateurs are equally welcome.
